Introduction: Who am I?
I have a Bachelor of Science and a Juris Doctor degree with a certificate in Public International Law. I worked at Apple for over six years, joining in February 2015 and exiting in September 2021. During my time at the company, I was very successful with glowing reviews every year, promotions, and regular performance bonuses. Before Apple, I worked at Nike from November 2012 through February 2015 where I was also very successful in my work. At both companies I held titles and roles ranging from project manager, program manager, senior program manager, release manager, and failure analysis manager. I also worked in a variety of other roles and functions prior, starting in 2000.
I have only once (this Apple incident) filed government complaints against an employer, or talked to the press about concerns about an employer. Prior to the Apple incident, I always tried to manage issues internally or didn't complain at all. I did what I did in 2021 because I believed the health and safety of hundreds or even thousands of people was at risk & I worried if I did not blow the whistle, people would be harmed. I was unfortunately correct.
- I have additional sites related to consulting, education on environmental exposure, and whistleblower advocacy.
- I have additional blogs on Substack, more Substack, and Medium.
